Roller chain sprockets are available in various designs, including taper bush sprockets, sprockets with fitted bore, keyway, and tapped hole, and standard pre-drilled sprockets, also known as plate sprockets. These plate sprockets are supplied according to BS, ANSI, and ASA standards and are available in simplex, duplex, and triplex versions for every pitch size. A pre-drilled sprocket requires further machining before it can be used in a drive. Typically, these sprockets are provided with a fitted bore with keyway and tapped hole, or a bore for a cylindrical clamping bush or coupling.
