Belt without markings? Here's how to measure it anyway

If there is nothing left on the belt, there are three practical options:

Measure outside

Place a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string taut along the outside. That gives you La. Subtract the profile correction for La from that to calculate Ld.

Measure inside

Measure along the inside for Li, and add the correction value.

Extended measuring

If the belt is broken, lay it straight and measure the total length. That is immediately the Ld/Lw.
