Roller chain sprockets are available in a variety of designs, including taper bush sprockets, sprockets with a keyway and tapped hole, and standard pre-drilled sprockets, also known as plate sprockets. These plate sprockets are available to BS, ANSI and ASA standards and are available in simplex, duplex and triplex designs for any pitch. A pre-drilled sprocket requires further machining before it can be used in a drive. Typically, these sprockets are provided with a keyway and tapped hole, or a bore for a cylindrical clamping bush or coupling.
