A double transition link is a special type of chain link used in roller chains to adjust the overall length of the chain by one pitch, often necessary when a chain requires an odd number of links. Unlike a regular (single) transition link, which is often considered the weakest point in a chain, a double transition link offers greater reliability and strength because it can handle a 100% Maximum Allowable Load (MAX) similar to the rest of the chain.
